New York Film Festival
Through the 16th of October, New Yorks' 49th Film Festival is under way at the Lincoln Center in Alice Tully Hall and the Walter Reade Theater, along with the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center. The festival is held every year by the Lincoln Center Film Society to celebrate all the film art of the world and what's the new 'it' of movies. Richard Pen`a, Scott Foundas, Melissa Anderson, Dennis Lim, and Todd McCarthy will be the judges for the festival, selecting an average of 28 feature films and 12 short films. But get this, there are no categories or prizes and awards-- yet the festival must be a hit to go on every year since 1963!

Leggo' Yanks!
So, all you Yankee fans, are you as surprised as I am to see the Yankees win while starting Burnett last night?! I mean, not to sound doubtful, but I know most of us were not expecting much... Okay, so for anyone who doesn't know about how the Yankees are doing or missed a game or two in the last week, I'm gonna sum it all up for you. Game 1 in the post season, the Yankees started out GREAT with a 9 to 3 win over the Detroit Tigers at their home field. It was a huge night for Cano when he doubled in the 5th inning, HOMERED in the 6th, and then again doubled in the 8th! Atta' boy, Cano [: Then in game 2, the Tigers came back and beat us 5-3 at Yankee Stadium, with the Tigers scoring in the 1st, 6th, and 9th. Although Granderson and Swisher both had homeruns and Jones sacrificed a fly ball to right... Just saying. Then again, in Game 3, the Tigers beat the Yanks by a score of 5 to 4.
I had my hopes up since Granderson tripled while scoring Jeter and then, my man, A-Rod, with another RBI, scored Granderson right after. But we let Detroit score in the 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th, and New York scored only in the 7th when Gardner doubled and brought Posada and Martin home. So finally, we come to last night's game, which iIdebated whether to even watch after that two-game losing streak. I gave in and watched my Yankees not only win, but blow over the Detroit Tigers 10 to 1! The first couple innings were a drag when Burnett could hardly throw a strike... But we didn't let them score, and neither did they. In the third, Jeter doubled to center, leaving Posada and Martin score, although Martinez came in the fourth and hit a homerun. After that, there was no competition for the Yankees hitting doubles and singles all over the place, bringing in 8 more runs! Next game against the Tigers should be interesting at Yankee Stadium, considering we took victory twice, BUT so did they... Eh, WE GOT THIS YANKEES!
